Open House

We were able to go to the Rexburg temple open house. It was absolutely gorgeous, as most temples are. There is a theme of wheat garner throughout. We had a good time. The kids and mom seeing the angel Moroni.

Alex made this ferris wheel all by himself! He only needed me to put the wheel on, because he couldn't get it on. I was pretty amazed.

The Hill name will remain strong in this family!

We weren't going to find out what we were having, but Mark couldn't wait. I even let the kids decide if they wanted to know or wait until he was born. They wanted to wait. We found out, but we figured it was a boy. We are really excited. Brigham started shaking he was so excited, and once Lissie found out that she would get to share a room for a couple of years, she was excited and didn't care that it wasn't a girl. Alex let me know that he could help with the baby whenever I needed him to and keeps offering his services. He was a little bumbed that for part of the time when the baby was little, that he'd be in school. You can't really tell if the baby will be bigger at this stage because they all measure the same as their first starting to grow. They usually can't tell until the last couple of months, so we'll have to see . So if you haven't gotten it by now, we are having a boy.

Here's # 4

Well we had our ultrasound today. THe kids were excited to see what the baby looked like. Sorry we don't have a scanner so I took this with the camera. The kids were excited. The baby's mouth opened for us a few times and also moved around a bit. The projected dates from the measurements show that I'm almost right on for the due date, only one day off, where with the other kids it showed the baby was about a week off. It was exciting and so for so good everything looks well. Quite the little mover.

Brigham is 4!

Brigham has reached the ripe old age of four and has entered CTR 5, with a little bit of hesitation, since Mom is no longer his teacher. Dad had to sit through sharing time with him, but he had fun in his class until one of the kids knocked a chair on him. He has enjoyed this age for about 2 weeks now, and his birthday was nice and spread out. We had a little party with Mark's family a couple days after Christmas and gave his presents to him on his birthday, then had cake and his meal of tacos on Monday. One of the presents they didn't have at the store, so he got it the week after. He got a white shirt. Below is a picture of him receiving his quilt. Do you think he was a little excited?

This is Brigham's cake. he wanted Alex and Dad to play soccer, and then Lissie and I playing basketball, and he is in the middle, he says playing basketball. He added some of his nerds to the cake. Then he blew out his candles with a little help.

The last thing he got was a piggy bank that you could paint. Alex and he enjoyed painting it. It looks like a 4 and 5 year old painted it. Lissie was already in her jamies (jamma jamma pjs as she says), so I let her color in princess coloring book with my markers. I even got to color too!

Then as Mark was at meetings, we had hot chocolate with candy canes. This is a picture to see the results. Alex had a blue one, Brigham a red and Lissie a normal one.

Brigham also had a 4 year check up (1-4-08). All of Mark's family talked about how tall he had gotten since they'd seen him, so I thought that I'd post this. Its a good thing he'd grown since the last time they'd seen him or his numbers at the doctor wouldn't have been so high. He is 34.8 lbs, which puts him in the 25% for weight. He is 38 3/4 inches tall which puts him in the 10-25 % for height! Now I know why the clothes Alex wore last year don't fit him as well. He is taking after my family, at least for right now. It's quite a change from when he was a baby and was in the 90%.

So that is part of Brigham's life since he has been four!

Our Holidays

Christmas morning and eve at our house was rather exciting and hectic. I'm sure it is with any children who understands that "Santa" will be coming and there will be treasures to be had the next day. We had a fun morning as the kids ran out after we let them.

Alex showing his serious face. (Just like Dad). Brigham was very into receiving a coat for Christmas or his birthday. He needed a new one, so mom and dad obliged him. Look at that smile and he has told everyone he sees about it.

Lissie was ecstatic about anything girlie, princess that she got. This is a princess phone. She got a princess coloring book and a princess piggy bank. We kind of do a present at a time but we all get one and then open it at the same time. Alex and Brigham got helmets and pads for biking and skateboarding.

We then headed down to Salt Lake for Christmas festivities with Mark's family. The roads right by Idaho Falls were BAD, even on the high way. We couldn't stop at a red light and ended up just going through it. But we got down there fine after the first 20 mins. We had a lot of fun with everyone. Unfortunately Mark and I don't carry a camera around constantly so we don't pictures of everything, but I did get these. Becky and Ben like computer games that involve music, and were nice enough to share with the family. This game is called American Idol. You have to sing on key and at the right time, etc. It was fun watching everyone. This picture above is Katelyn Emily and Elisabeth. The girls wanted to sing and Lissie wanted to sing with them since she was a girl. SHe loves music so she tried to sing everything. Her microphone is some tinkertoys and she was happy with it. (THank goodness-no fighting). Below are Mark and the kids singing so they could all have a chance.

Other activities included Mark did extreme sledding with his brothers and hurt his ankle, but had a blast. Then the kids went sledding and Alex found the only jump on the hill and went flying and hit his nose and got a bloody nose, but still had fun. We had birthday parties, baby shower, movie parties, wrestling, Halo for the big boys. So that was our fun. We got many nice things from others. We even received a Yamaha piano keyboard. Yeah!
