Easter's come and gone already!

Despite the earliness of Easter this year, we were able to throw in a little bit of stuff.
We colored eggs.
More eggs.
We hid and found the eggs. There was no way that we were going to fight the crowds we did last year at the park. In fact they said there were more there this year than last. This was fun.
Here's one in the SNOW!
In the bushes.
Finding jelly beans and baskets.
Yeah pink peeps!
Here we go.
Where are the jelly beans?
Nice little stash.

We hope all of you had a great Easter. Ours was nice.

Volcano

The boys, especially Alex, have really been into volcanoes. They saw something on it and remembered a lot. Many of their games talk about volcanoes and lava. So we decided to make our own. This is starting out., before we addded paper mache.
This is after the paper mache and we are painting.
This is the explosion. We did it when the boys had some friends over. They loved it.
This is after we did a few explosions. I couldn't get Brigham to get in the picture. The boys (and Lissie, sort of) kept talking about it. It was fun.
This is signing up for kindergarten. I didn't have a hard time getting Brigham to stay in the picture this time. He kept wanting his picture taken.

Happy Birthday Lisa!!

So I don't have any updated pictures to put here, but I'll put a couple that I do have. (I guess I could take it from your blog). This is Lisa when she was little, with me. Do I know which is which? No.
This is one of her with the family when it was small and we were little. Do I know who is who in this picture? Well I know which is Mom and which is Dad.
Here's Lisa with Elisabeth.

I thought I'd do this to say Happpy Birthday, since she does this for everyone, and I think its nice. I'm pretty slow to get things up, but Happy Birthday.
Lisa is...
1. Kind and thoughtful, she always is calling to say hi and see what's going on.
2. Very organized and clean, she had to put up with me when I was in high school. :)
3. Smart and has her Masters, hopefully someday I can get mine. She knows lots about education and loves to learn new things. I don't know if I always want to learn as much as she does.
4. Strong in doing what's right, and has worked really hard to do this. She has gone through a lot but has truely become amazing.
5. Very opinionated, which is always fun to listen to. It sometimes surprises me, but she knows a lot of about things.
6. A great aunt (unfortunately not able to see all the nieces and nephews as she likes). She always tries really hard to do something for their birthdays, but she'll even talk to my kids on the phone, when they want to talk.
7. Understanding of others, and tries to understand where they come from before she jumps to conclusions. Understanding of me. She is my best friend, besides Mark. She know a lot about me and we've been through lots together.
8. She is athletic and she tries to keep in shape.
9. She is diligent in what she's asked to do.
10. She is pretty :).
11. She is a good wife, and I'm glad she found a great husband!

and so much more... We love you (aunt) Lisa.

Here you go...

We have finally been able to post the carpet. Here is Alex standing on the onld carpet down in the basement. He likes to run on this. We are saving this stuff (which is okay) to put in part of the playroom, where its leaked a couple times. This is the family room. The best angle I could get. You can't see the new curtains in here in this photo. You'll also have to bear with me because we haven't finished putting everything back together. We still have a couple of touch ups to do.

This is the kitchen. Just the painting, obviously no carpet here.
This is the hallway.
This is the living/entry room. Needs to be finished decorating.
Brigham chilling in the closet.
Lissie wanted to go in next. They love the new carpet. We are definately more careful. Our house doesn't have that old house smell, but rather the new carpet smell, which is kind of nice. Its nice. So that is what it looks like. This bottom picture you can tell the color of it a little better. It is the same for all the rooms, if you can't tell. If you are curious, well here you are.

Painting

THis is the paint with no carpet in the nice room (living room). Notice the new curtains.
Marks family came up and painted the house with us. We are lucky they are so willing to help. We had lots of fun and the kids were excited to see them. We stayed up late and ate lots of stuff, and laughed, etc.
The kids got to paint part of the wall until it came too detail oriented and then we had them go downstairs and paint a couple things. We have footprints all over the cement. They had fun. Here are the boys.
This is Mark running the show. He stayed pretty clean until he had a paint war with Julie. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to capture any picture of that. In fact Julie took most of the pictures of the painting.

Here's Lissie.
Doing the hallway. There were lots of people in the hallway.
Another angle.
and another.
yet again, another

This is what the family looks like painted and no carpet.

This is where we put all the furniture so we could get carpet-the kitchen
another angle of the kitchen.
